The Center is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization and is not an investigative agency, an arm of law enforcement or Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). As such, we cannot comment on the status of any case. If you are a member of the media and need information about a case or an ongoing criminal investigation, please contact the appropriate law enforcement or DFPS public information officer.

Why Consent Matters
There is no reliable way to determine someone’s consent status by looking at their gender, their gender expression, or even their sexual orientation. This is because a person’s identity—their sexuality, gender, and/or gender identity—is not an indicator of whether they are giving consent to another person.
