MRCCAC serves Midland, Howard, Andrews, and Martin Counties.
Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and sustainability of MRCCAC. The Executive Director ensures the organization fulfills its mission to provide trauma-informed services to survivors of sexual assault, child abuse, and homicide loss, while maintaining strong community partnerships, sound governance, and financial health.
The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors, serving as its primary liaison, and directly leads MRCCAC's department directors and staff. The Executive Director focuses on organizational vision, governance, community relations, fundraising, and long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations
Provide visionary leadership that aligns programs, services, and staff with MRCCAC's mission
Directly lead and support MRCCAC's department directors, who each manage their own teams
Ensure effective organizational structure, staffing, and leadership development
Foster a positive, trauma-informed workplace culture that supports staff well-being and retention
Monitor program quality and outcomes using data, and keep MRCCAC responsive to emerging community needs and best practices in victim services
Oversee hiring, evaluation, and termination practices alongside department directors, who manage these processes for their own teams; apply the Center's grievance procedure, and bring major personnel decisions to the Board for approval
Ensure MRCCAC meets Texas CAC Standards, National Children's Alliance accreditation, and CACTX membership requirements, working with the Compliance Director
Board Relations
Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, maintaining open and consistent communication
Provide regular reports on organizational performance, financial status, and strategic initiatives
Support the Board in strategic decision-making and long-range planning
Ensure department directors and staff maintain accurate records — program data, financials, and the strategic plan — and share these with the Board
Lead development of MRCCAC's strategic plan in partnership with the Board
Governance & Policy
Support the Board in governance and policy development
Ensure compliance with bylaws, policies, and legal requirements
Ensure organizational policies are clearly documented, current, and consistently applied across the organization
Bring major organizational, financial, and personnel decisions to the Board for approval
Financial Management & Fundraising
Oversee financial health, including budget development, monitoring, and long-term sustainability, maintaining a strong working knowledge of the Center's funding streams and budget process
Maintain a strong working knowledge of MRCCAC's fundraising efforts — grant development, donor relations, major gifts, and the Center's flagship fundraiser, Wine Women & Shoes — led by the Development Director
Support the Development Director in cultivating relationships with funders, foundations, and community stakeholders
Ensure proper stewardship and accountability of all funds
Community & Public Relations
Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative of MRCCAC
Lead and facilitate MRCCAC's multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and coordinated response among law enforcement, CPS, the District Attorney's Office, and other MDT partners
Build and maintain strong partnerships with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, the District Attorney's Office, healthcare providers, and the community — including civic, faith, and energy-sector networks across MRCCAC's service area
Advocate for survivors and raise community awareness around sexual assault and child abuse
Represent MRCCAC at public events, meetings, and media engagements
Facility Transition
Support the Board in finalizing the sale of MRCCAC's former building
If and when the Board launches a capital campaign for a future facility, support that effort through donor cultivation and grant writing requirements
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, social work, or a related field, or 5+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience at a Children's Advocacy Center, required
Minimum of 7–10 years of senior leadership experience in a nonprofit or human services organization
