When compassionate people come together, healing happens. Our volunteers make a difference by showing up, speaking out, and supporting survivors every step of the way.
At the Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center, volunteers are an essential part of our mission to support survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse. Whether you're offering comfort during a crisis or helping behind the scenes, your time and compassion make a meaningful difference.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
Children’s Advocacy Center Support: Greet children and their families upon arrival and provide calm, compassionate emotional support during the forensic interview process.
Therapy Dog Program: Certified therapy dogs and their handlers help ease fear and anxiety, offering warmth and comfort to both children and their families during their time at the center.
24/7 Sexual Assault Crisis Hotline: Offer a listening ear and support to callers in crisis between 5 PM and 8 AM, connecting survivors of sexual assault, child abuse, and other traumatic events with the help they need.
Hospital Accompaniment: Provide in-person emotional support and information to victims and their loved ones during sexual assault forensic exams at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Court Accompaniment: Stand beside survivors and their families throughout the legal process, offering a steady, supportive presence during court proceedings.
Office Assistance & Special Projects: Help with administrative tasks, donation sorting, and other behind-the-scenes duties that keep our services running smoothly.
Community Outreach & Events: Represent MRCCAC at public events, assist with awareness campaigns, and help coordinate seasonal drives and special projects that support our clients.
