When a survivor needs support, our community responds as one. Through MDT and SART collaboration, we ensure every case is approached with compassion, professionalism, and coordinated care.

Multi-Disciplinary Team
At the Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center, our staff works closely with our multi-disciplinary partners during child abuse investigations. When a report of abuse or neglect is made, professionals from local law enforcement, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), and the District Attorney’s Office rely on our team to provide a child-friendly forensic interview. These partners observe the interview in real time, allowing them to gather the information needed to move the investigation forward while limiting the number of times a child must share their experience.
These agencies form MRCCAC’s Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), a collaborative group dedicated to ensuring that every child’s case is approached with accuracy, coordination, and compassion.
Our center’s design supports this coordinated response, with shared workspaces, meeting rooms, and comfortable common areas that encourage communication among our partners. This co-located, trauma-informed environment reflects best practice standards, making investigations more efficient, more effective, and more child-centered, and ultimately helping reduce additional trauma for the children and families we serve.

Sexual Assault Response Team
At the Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center, our Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) brings together key community partners to ensure a coordinated, survivor-centered response to sexual assault. Representatives from local law enforcement, medical providers, the District Attorney’s Office, and mental health providers meet regularly to review cases, share updates, and strengthen communication across agencies.
These partners make up MRCCAC’s SART, a collaborative team dedicated to improving the consistency, quality, and effectiveness of sexual assault investigations and survivor support services. By discussing cases as a team, members can identify gaps, streamline processes, and ensure survivors receive compassionate care from the moment they report the assault through the investigative process.
While the center does not conduct forensic interviews for adult survivors, our coordinated SART meetings play a critical role in improving outcomes. This structured, trauma-informed collaboration enhances information-sharing, promotes accountability, and helps ensure every survivor is met with safety, respect, and a unified community response.
